Dear Listener,

I have set on foot a task of no small daring:

to gather into one house, the principal histories and lives of the ancients—

as many as fortune and the ages have preserved.

I have begun in earnest, to build a narrated library of the greatest works from antiquity.

For thousands of years these books have been the cornerstones of our understanding of the past and of ourselves.

And yet at last, have fallen away from us.

This I undertake, as an attempt to shine a light on these treasures — in a manner yet unseen, nay, unheard.
